CSD-19: Sustainable consumption and production, transport, chemicals, waste management and mining

Policy session, fourth implementation cycle

2-13 may 2011

The 19th session of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD), will take place at the UN headquarters in New York, 2-13 May 2011, and will focus on transport, waste management, chemicals and mining, as well as sustainable consumption and production. This policy session is aimed at identifying policy actions needed to overcome the obstacles identified in the CSD-18 review session.

On behalf of the Scientific and Technological Community (Major Group), ICSU – together with the World Federation of Engineering Organizations – will submit a report to the UN recommending priorities for action. The recommendations will be based on the discussion paper submitted to CSD–18 and the outcomes of that session.

More information on CSD-19 is available on the CSD-19 website.
