The International Council for Scientific and Technical Information was established in June 1984 as the successor to the ICSU Abstracting Board. The purpose of ICSTI is to increase accessibility to, and awareness of, scientific and technical information. ICSTI aims at fostering communication and interaction among all participants in the information transfer chain, in order to develop appropriate tools to meet better the information requirements of the world community of scientists and technologists.
