The International Water Association (IWA) was established in 1999 from a merger of the International Association on Water Quality – IAWQ (created in 1965) and the International Water Services Association – IWSA.
It is an independent non-governmental organization and its purpose is to exchange information and experience on all aspects, theoretical and practical, of water supply, wastewater, water quality and water quantity management.
