Earth System Sustainability Initiative: Transition Team membership and FAQs available

Earth System Sustainability Initiative: Transition Team membership and FAQs available

Visioning

ICSU and the International Social Science Council (ISSC), in consultation with the Belmont Forum of funding agencies, have just appointed the committee that will lead the design phase and the early implementation of the new 10-year Earth System Sustainability Initiative arising from the Earth System Visioning process. The initiative is being  established by the Alliance between ICSU, ISSC and the Belmont Forum.

The 'Transition Team' comprises seventeen members from a wide range of disciplines and countries, and also includes ex-officio members representing the main partners of the Alliance. The first meeting of the Team is planned for 22-23 June.

The list of members of the Transition Team, as well as answers to a set of other Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) on the new  on Earth System Sustainability Initiative, are available on the ICSU website. Comments and new questions are welcome! Please write to visioning@icsu.org.
