The Forum was a great success, bringing together leading international scientists, policy-makers, industry, NGOs, journalists and youth from more than 75 countries. Over 1,000 people attended the event, with another 1,000 watching the live webcast and many more interacting via social media. Recommendations from the sessions are now online, alongside the live blog, recordings of the sessions and other information. |

NewsFuture Earth design enters final phaseSep 05, 2012Future Earth has entered the final months of the initial design phase, and the pace of work is picking up as we approach the end of the year. Work on institutional design has been proceeding apace, and the final report on major aspects of overall governance will be completed at the upcoming Transition Team meeting in Paris Sept 20-21.

Square Kilometre Array Bid OutcomeJun 15, 2012On 25 May 2012, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, the Members of the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) Organisation, agreed on a dual site solution (South Africa & Australia) for the SKA telescope. It will provide an international foru; where these stakeholders, in collaboration with the ICSU and CODATA international networks and other networks can create a dialogue on legal, economic and technological challenges; evaluate societal impacts; and put forward possible solutions that can in turn benefit the planet.
