The Second meeting of the ICSU Regional Committee for LAC was held at the Brazilian Academy of Sciences in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in April 2007
The Regional Committee reviewed the documents produced by invited scientists on the selected priority areas biodiversity, sustainable energy, disaster risks, and mathematics education and refined the definition of the scope for each area.
The role of the Regional Office regarding the ICSU Scientific Union Members and the Regional Disciplinary Networks, which are especially important in LAC, were also discussed during this meeting.
