RCLAC 5
The RCLAC 5 took place on August 20th 21st and 22nd, at the Brazilian Academy of Sciences
The Committee discussed the upcoming ICSU General Assembly and the increased participation of national members from the region. The Committee also stressed the importance of its involvement in the 2nd ICSU Strategic Plan, 2012-2017. The members were briefed on the forthcoming 2nd Inter American Meeting of Ministers of Science and Technology, under the framework of the Organization of American States.
In the course of 2008, and based on standard procedures, The Committee received the nominations for reelection of four members and decided unanimously to submit the list to the executive board of ICSU, which extended membership of the nominees for a second period. Two new ex-officio members were appointed at the end of 2008.
