Professor Emeritus Bert Bolin passed away on 30 December 2007. Bert Bolin played a leading role in the development of ICSU over the past 45 years. His vision has been instrumental in strengthening international science for the benefit of society. It is a tribute to his leadership that the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to the IPCC for which he served as its first Chairman. Bert Bolin is mourned by many friends and colleagues in the ICSU family...
