ICSU ROLAC participation in IANAS sustainable energy meeting

Manuel Limonta and Decio Gazzoni participated in the Inter-American Network of Academies of Science (IANAS) meetings on sustainable energy.

The inaugural meetings of the Inter-American Network of Academies of Sciences (IANAS) Energy Project were held Dec. 6-7, 2010 and June 9-10, 2011, in Bogota Colombia, hosted by the Colombian Academy of Exact, Physical and Natural Sciences.

After the meeting in June 2011, a third meeting for the IADB Project was heldĀ  in fromĀ  9-10 June 2011.


The IANAS Energy Project is a collaboration of the Science Academies of the Americas to apply advanced science and engineering to the sustainable energy programs.

The collaboration focuses on six priorities: 1) energy for unserved populations, 2) renewable energy, 3) bioenergy, 4) energy efficiency, 5) capacity building, and 6) information and education.

During the IANAS meeting a future collaboration between IANAS and ICSU ROLAC on the subject of sustainable energy was discussed
