TWAS Meeting in Tobago

On December 7-9 2011, Manuel Limonta attended the10th TWAS-ROLAC Young Scientist Conference.

The Latin America and the Caribbean Regional Office of The Academy of Sciences for the Developing World ( TWAS-ROLAC ) hosted the 10th  Young Scientist Conference in Tobago.

Research work undertaken in areas of Medicine,  Agriculture,and  Natural and Engineering Science was presented by young scientists aged 40 and under from Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Ecuador, Guyana, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.

A number of regional outstanding scientists from Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) attended the meeting to interact with the young scientists.

Based on the evaluations by TWAS Fellows in the region, the Executive Council of TWAS-ROLAC awarded :

Irasema Alcántara Ayala – Mexico – Earth Sciences

Fernando Coda Marques – Brazil – Mathematics

and Aimé Peláis Barranco – Cuba – Physics
