The Regional Science and Technology Workshop for Asia and the Pacific is part of ICSU and UNESCO's preparations for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20) that will take place in 2012, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
4th ICSU Regional Consultation in Asia and the Pacific from Apr 18, 2011 to Apr 19, 2011 — Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,
The 4th Regional Consultation will discuss the future directions and proposed collaborative frameworks for research for the regional priority areas: ecosystem change and society, sustainable energy, and hazards and disasters. The consultation will also discuss the ICSU draft science plan on health and wellbeing in the changing urban environment, and make suggestions on the plan for consideration by the Regional Committee for Asia and the Pacific.

In conjunction with the 22nd Pacific Science Congress on 14 - 17 June, the ICSU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP) and its Science Planning Group on Health and Wellbeing in the Changing Urban Environment will be involved in organizing the Symposium on Health Challenges and Urbanization.
