Meetings

The Transition Team was appointed in June 2011 to oversee an intensive 18-month design and early implementation phase for the new Initiative. The Team is expected to meet four times during the transition phase, expected to conclude in December 2012.

Meeting goals:

1.      Ensure that Planet Under Pressure feedback is taken on board for Rio and beyond

2.      Consolidate the research strategy

3.      Consolidate the institutional design

4.      Develop a framework for initial stakeholder engagement

 

Expected outcomes:

1.      Agreement on research priorities, criteria and initial research agenda

2.      Agreement on the institutional design

3.      Roadmap to Rio

4.      Agreed framework for initial stakeholders involvement

5.      Guidelines for the secretariat call for proposals

6.      Clarified objectives and process of the regional consultations

7.      Agreement on measures of success for the initiative

8.      Agreement on patrons strategy

9.      Guidelines to develop the education and capacity building strategy
