Statements, reports & codes

— tags:
Important statements were issued on the occasion of World Conferences on Research Integrity. These are complements by statements and reports by other international bodies. At the national level, codes of conduct were drafted in many countries.

Codes of Conduct

Countless codes of conduct have been drawn up that focus on specific disciplines. They are searchable in the rather comprehensive UNESCO Global Ethics Observatory database. Provided below are codes of conduct that transcend the disciplinary approach and that can be considered as being recognised by the scientific communities in their national contexts.

Building on some of the European codes, the European Science Foundation (ESF) and the All European Academies (ALLEA) drafted The European Code of Conduct for Research Integrity (2011). An analysis of the situation in Europe is provided in The Lancet and in the Journal of Empirical Research on Human Research Ethics.
