This workshop will give natural scientists, social scientists and engineers from the Arab States region the opportunity to prepare joint positions and concerted input into the Rio+20 preparatory process, and discuss their views with high level policy-makers and representatives of other stakeholder groups.

The results of the workshop will be presented at the Rio+20 Intergovernmental Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Arab Region, which will take place 16-17 October 2011 in Cairo, Egypt.
