The Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tajikistan was created in 1951. It is comprised of 18 research institutes and has 28 Academicians and 46 Corresponding members. One of the aims of the Academy is to develop fundamental and applied research in the natural, technical, medical, social and humanities.
