The Pakistan Association for the Advancement of Science was founded on 12 December 1947, soon after the establishment of Pakistan itself. Its aims are the promotion and development of science, to provide a forum for scientific meetings, and to facilitate the publication of scientific papers. The establishment of this premier scientific assocation in the country has been a landmark for the promotion of science in Pakistan.
