The event attracted scientists from a number of Zambian academics and research institutions as well as senior government officials, which included Mr Owen Mgemezulu (Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education) and Mrs Jane Chinkusu (Director, Department of Science and Technology in the Ministry of Education). The Seminar provided a platform for local scientists to interact with and share notes/best practices with ICSU Regional Committee for Africa members. Seminar representations and deliberations focused on the role of science and meteorology in sustainable socio-economic development.
