CODIST-II will bring together Member States delegates in the field of the ICT, Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), Geo-Information as well as Libraries and Information Services and other experts to explore the extent to which African countries have harnessed innovation to enhance industrial development on the continent, and to advise the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in these areas. CODIST-II will also review progress made by the Commission and member States towards implementing the recommendations of CODIST-I.
Nominated official delegates will represent each Member State. As usual, Members of the country delegation, should be sponsored by the country, and drawn from (i) ICT, (ii) Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), (iii) Geo-Information as well as (iv) Libraries and Information Services sectors and others.
There is no limit to the size of the official delegation. Due to many Ministries involved and the Parliamentary meeting rule, official invitation letter is sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and should be copied to the respective Ministries in charge of the above areas.
Therefore we would be grateful for your follow-up locally to ensure that the letter is well received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and that composition of the official delegation covers the four areas and the notification sent to ECA on time.
Kindly help us to forward the invitation letter to officials (ie: Permanent Secretary) of the Ministers responsible for : (i) ICT, (ii) Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), (iii) Geo-Information as well as (iv) Libraries and Information Services sectors.
NB: Kindly note that Libraries and Information Services will be represented in this CODIST.
