New Genetics, Food and Agriculture: Scientific Discoveries – Societal Dilemmas

A synthesis of more than 50 science based reviews, the report assesses the risks and benefits of applying new genetic iscoveries to food and agriculture.
The report was commissioned by ICSU’s Advisory Committee on Genetic Experimentation and Biotechnology (ACOGEB).

New Genetics, Food and Agriculture: Scientific Discoveries–Societal Dilemmas – full text of the synthesis report published by ICSU in June 2003. The synthesis report summarises the scientific basis of understanding the risks and benefits of applying new genetic discoveries to food and agriculture, identifies where there are areas of scientific convergence, areas of divergence, and highlights gaps in knowledge that need to be addressed through further research.

Extensive Annotated Bibliography with links to abstracts, bibliographic entries, and where possible, the full text (PDF files) of the 50+ reviews selected for inclusion in the synthesis report. ICSU gratefully acknowledges the generosity of all the organizations and individuals that gave permission to include their material and made this an invaluable knowledge resource and central reference point for the latest scientific information on new genetics, food and agriculture. This bibliography will be regularly updated as new information becomes available.
